    Sorry LJ
I don't wanna go away forever, and I wanna keep posting here, so I'm going to.

I've been posting more at http://reflectingoffofyourcd.blogspot.com/ lately. (though I registered the wordpress and might transition over soon) That's been mostly music related stuff. Sorry y'all.

    I still read y'all semi-regularly. I haven't completely abandoned this.

Confession: I've never seen a Harry Potter movie before.

I have read all the books, but TONIGHT will be my first Harry Potter movie. How fun.

I will be a muggle dressed as a wizard dressed as a muggle.

Wizards may not know how to dress as muggles, but muggles don't know how to dress as wizards dress as muggles, so they end up looking a lot like how they normally look.

[Not going to the Omnimax showing, though. Little bummed about that, but I'll consider seeing it again at MSI]

    Sorry I haven't updated in a while.

It's just that since Michael Jackson died I've been so terribly, horribly distraught, to the point where I couldn't post new things to my Livejournal.

    Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

In other news, it turns out someone in this household (likely my mom) bought one of the 100 million copies of Thriller that have been sold, ever. Its purchase likely predates my birth, and until about an hour ago it was unopened. I'm listening to it right now. It's alright.

    Talkin' baseball
    A couple of things today...

First of all, a very happy birthday to [info]zandras_court! I hope you have/had a fantastic day! Celebrate heartily!

Next, I'm carrying on this baseball meme that Amber posted. It's nice, it's simple, and there are pictures involved, so it's going behind the cut:

Both feet on the floor, two hands on the wheel
I don't want to romanticize the act of driving too much. I understand that it's contributing to the slow death of the planet and all [not to, like...downplay that, or anything, I guess].

But that doesn't mean that I don't like driving. In fact, I would say that I like driving very much. It's incredibly relaxing; it gives me the chance to think about things in the event that I'm driving alone; I can blast my music as loud [or as soft] as I desire; I can have conversations with people riding with me, in the event that I'm riding with company; I like the way that certain songs feel while I'm driving, in the sense that they feel different than when I listen to them when I'm not driving ["Spiders (Kidsmoke)" by Wilco, "Chicago" by Sufjan Stevens, the entirety of Born to Run]. Like, y'know...stuff like that.

I think I may be spending too much time on Wikipedia looking up Interstate highways and famous-but-defunct US highways. I just think it would be pretty cool to drive the length of Interstate 90, from Seattle to Boston, especially while I'm young, single, and unemployed.

I was going to do some yard work today, to pass the time, and to, uh..."beautify" the building.

    But, alas, it's raining.

So, maybe I'll take down the Christmas tree instead. The Cubs are playing an afternoon game, though.

    Decisions, decisions.

    Life (the entry)
Stuff that's happened since the last update:
    - Record Store Day
    - Death Cab for Cutie, Neko Case, M. Ward, Tinted Windows
    - Bulls make the playoffs.
    - Bulls lose in the playoffs.
    - Oh hey, Arlen Specter, how 'bout that EFCA?
    - Last classes for the foreseeable future.
    - Had one graduation ceremony.
    - Other stuff.

    Stuff that's coming up:
    - Last finals for the foreseeable future.
    - Another graduation ceremony.
    - An endless time of whatever.
    - Who the hell knows.
    - Other stuff.

Updates will likely be scarce for the next week (which is, ya know, par for the course, I guess). Three papers, one final interview test, and a project unrelated to school that I'm thinking of doing that sort of falls under that "well it seemed like a good idea at the time" category, and then...who knows. We'll see.
