The republic in action
Today was the last day of early voting in Illinois, and I decided to take advantage of it.

The process, as a whole, took an hour and a half.

Obama for the United States.

Awesome! Did you get an "I Voted!" sticker? I am bitter that my voting absentee means no sticker for me.

No sticker :(

I just got a slip of paper that says "I EARLY VOTED" but it also makes a note, in big letters, saying "THIS MEANS THAT YOU CAN NOT VOTE ON ELECTION DAY"

which is true, and I guess it also makes sense since I vote in "vote early vote often" Chicago, Illinois.

Yeah I totally heard all over the news that early voting was insane yesterday. It said at one of the places, the wait was about 3 hours.

It's weird to hear about because when me and the boy went to vote the Friday of the first week early voting opened, it seemed crowded but it went quickly ... No where near an hour even.

Sadly no but since Columbia is so close to the activities, they're closing our buildings early ... Basically, canceling classes that start after 3pm but buildings will close at 6pm. My classes are earlier in the day so ... I still have to show up, har. Did you get tix?

heh, I wish.

I did get an inside tip, that they have a bloc of tickets available for people who can go to Indiana on Monday to canvass, and then stay overnight to do GOTV on Election Day morning, then come back to Chicago in time for the rally.

Which is sorta nuts.
